new year’s tutorial-

I’ll first start by saying this is one of my go-to looks; for dinners, parties, or just when I want to feel glamorous. With black in the crease, so many looks can be created and customized to you. I obviously worked with golds for this look, but if you only have pink glitter, try using all pinks. Or, if you want to mix things up, use a different color eyeshadow than you do glitter. The combinations are endless, so be creative and have fun with it! Have a wonderful New Year!

1. Prime the eye. Apply a gold (or whatever color you choose), all across the lid up to the crease, and beneath the lower lashline.

2. Use a black pencil liner to cut the crease. If you need more lid space, create a new crease slightly higher than your natural one. With a small smudger brush, blend the line until smooth and no harsh edges are visible. Try blending up rather than down to keep a defined crease.

3. Apply a black shadow on top of the liner and blend up and out, creating an elongated cat-eye shape. If your eyes are already wide and you’d rather lift them, blend up toward the arch of your brow instead. Apply a matte highlight beneath the brow.

4. Using a small detail brush, apply eyelash glue to the lid. Be sure not to go too high, or the lid can stick to the skin above the crease.

5. Pat glitter on top of the glue after if becomes tacky. Wait for it to dry before looking up! Clean up any fall out with a piece of tape.

6. Line the eyes with a black liner, following the curves of your cut crease. Line the lower lashline and smudge it out into your eyeshadow. You may need to reapply if it gets hidden by the black liner.

7. Curl lashes, apply mascara and false lashes if you choose.

8. Done!
